Global Developments relevant for STM Members Barbara Kalumenos, Director Public Affairs, STM Barbara will provide a summary of the major development within Open Access – including: PlanS/cOAlition S which has precipitated intense debates and discussions; Open research data, which is a key component of Open Science and rapidly gaining more attention as funders introduce further requirements. |

STM Japan Chapter Group update Tony Bocquet, (Springer Nature), Chair STM Japan Chapter Tony - current Chair of the STM Japan Chapter Group - will provide an overview of the work the group has undertaken. The STM Japan Chapter Group is a local working group dedicated to following, discussing and reacting to developments across Japan developments. Its scope is broad and covers a variety of area such as intellectual property rights, Open Science, Open Access and research data. In addition the group supports the outreach of STM so that relationships with Japanese funding agencies, the Japan Cabinet Office and the appropriate government ministries can flourish. |

Events Terms and Conditions
Cancellation
Where an event has registration fees, cancellations made in writing up to 30 days before an event are eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds can be made for cancellations received on or after 30 days prior to the event date, however, substitutions may be made free of charge at any time.
Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance. Participants are advised to take out adequate personal insurance to cover travel, accommodation, cancellation and personal effects.
