Mark Seeley

Mark Seeley is the Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Elsevier, based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mark joined the Elsevier science and medical publishing division of Reed Elsevier in 1995 as General Counsel (previously with Reed Elsevier USA Legal Department from 1989-1995).  Leads organization of 16 lawyers (European and American) supporting the Elsevier business globally.  Principal operational responsibilities: public policy,  copyright policy and enforcement, corporate organization, M&A.

Chair, Legal Affairs/Copyright Committee, International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers.  Member of Copyright Committee, Association of American Publishers.  Frequent speaker/panelist on copyright and public policy issues at publishing and scientific conferences.

Education: Thomas Jefferson College, Grand Valley State University, Michigan, USA (B.Ph, Literature); Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Mass., USA (J.D., cum laude).   Member, Massachusetts and New York bars.
