Mark Seeley

Mark Seeley has been the General Counsel for Elsevier, the leading global publisher and analytics provider for the scientific research and health markets, and has split his time between the Cambridge, Massachusetts office in the US and the Amsterdam headquarters.

Mark has led a global Elsevier team of 17 lawyers (along with a Rights & Permissions team) that focus on publishing & sales issues and intellectual property matters, including the intersection of IP, technology and collaboration. 

He has been a regular contributor and speaker on copyright and publishing ethics issues, and served on a number of publishing industry copyright committees (including chairing the STM Copyright & Legal Affairs Committee from 2004-2016), and is an author and contributor to a number of reference books on professional publishing and copyright matters.
