Amber Stuver

Amber Stuver is a scientist at the LIGO Livingston Observatory in Louisiana and an instructor at the Louisiana State University.  Her main research focus is on gravitational wave data analysis methods as part of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, with whom she has coauthored over 70 papers.  She is also active in the physics education community doing outreach, teacher professional development, and college teaching.  When not engaging in scientific research or educational activities, Amber also does professional service in different capacities: she is currently the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Science Education for the Public for the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) and has served the American Physical Society (APS) on their Executive Board and Council and as an executive committee member of their Forums on Education and Graduate Student Affairs.  Amber holds an M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Physics from the Pennsylvania State University and is the author of the Living LIGO (www.livingligo.org) blog.
