Nandita Quaderi

Dr Nandita Quaderi is Editor-in-Chief & Editorial VP of the Web of Science. She is a leader in transforming publishing practices, an open access advocate and former scientific researcher. Nandita has a keen interest in supporting publishers maintain the integrity of the scholarly record while shaping the research communications systems of the future.

In her current role, Nandita has oversight of the selection process for inclusion in the Web of Science™ and Journal Citation Reports™. She and her team have transformed policies and practices in recent years and continually look for ways to innovate and improve collaborative interactions with publishers. In addition, they work with the research community to tackle new forms of manipulation and fraudulent enterprises that undermine trusted research.

Before joining Clarivate in 2018, Nandita was Publishing Director at Springer Nature, with responsibility for the open access Nature Portfolio journals. She led Scientific Reports through a period of unprecedented growth and transformed Nature Communications from a hybrid publication model to open access. Nandita was also responsible for the concept and launch of the open access portfolio of Communications journals. Previously she was Editorial Director at BMC and was instrumental in demonstrating the viability and sustainability of gold open access in the early years of the movement.

Prior to joining the STM publishing sector, Nandita was a Principal Investigator at the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King’s College London. Nandita has a BA in Chemistry from the U. Oxford and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Imperial College.
