Kattie Washington

Kattie has been at Elsevier for 15 years and is currently an Acquisitions Editor managing the Toxicology, Virology, and Parasitology book portfolios. She also commissions Biotechnology titles for the Biochemistry portfolio.

She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelors in English and History and obtained her Masters in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College, also in Boston, Massachusetts.

Throughout her time at Elsevier, she has held positions in both books and journals. Prior to her current role, Kattie was a Senior Editorial Project Manager shepherding books through the development process for Engineering titles and in editorial administrative roles for Cell Press early in her publishing career.

From 2018-2020, she served as a mentor to Elsevier interns as part of a 10-week program jointly sponsored by the Association of American Publishers (AAP) and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
