Amy Brand

Amy Brand is currently Program Manager of the Harvard Office for Scholarly Communication. The OSC oversees the mechanisms by which the fruits of scholarship are communicated within and without the University, with a special aim to increase the availability of the scholarly output of the University and maximize the efficiency with which scholarly materials are made available to members of the Harvard community and beyond. Before moving to Harvard, Brand served as CrossRef's Director of Business Development, where she was instrumental in the widespread adoption of CrossRef's linking technology and other services. Her career spans electronic publishing, book publishing, and academia. She previously held positions at Ingenta, Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, The MIT Press, and the University of Pennsylvania. Brand received a PhD in cognitive science from MIT in 1989.
