We have an opportunity to join the Publishing team in an exciting and varied new role as Publishing Coordinator based at our central Bristol office.

 

About the role:

As publishing coordinator, you will support the publishing management team to develop publishing strategy and open science policy at IOP Publishing. The role will involve a combination of administration and project coordination, including desk research, maintaining central information sources, coordinating reports, collating financial information, and organising meetings and briefing sessions. You will act as the first point of contact for publishing strategy and open science policy questions from colleagues across our business. The role will provide a thorough grounding in journals and open science and would be an ideal step for anyone looking to move into the STM industry gain more experience of publishing strategy.

About you:
Successful applicants will possess /demonstrate:

  • An interest in the role of academic research journals and open science;
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong customer service ethos;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail;
  • Good commercial awareness and experience of the ability to work with financial information;
  • Working knowledge of Excel;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Willingness and ability to develop business process analysis and continuous improvement skills.

 

And also, ideally:

  • First Degree (BSc or BA);
  • Publishing experience in STM publishing (books or journals).
