We have an exciting opportunity for two dynamic and commercially aware publishing professionals to join our fast-growing open access (OA) journals team.

About the role:

As Associate Publisher/ Publisher, you will be responsible for the establishment and ongoing editorial management of a group of cutting-edge scientific journals. To be successful in the role will require close engagement with the scientific community to identify the right editorial and business development opportunities, as well as the drive and ambition to turn good ideas into practical strategies.

You will use data and analysis to inform effective decision making and ensure that information is shared quickly and effectively across the team. The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues as well as external scientific experts, research groups and scientific societies will be a crucial dimension to the role.

The successful candidate will need an existing understanding of scientific journals publishing, and familiarity and interest in open access publishing would be a distinct advantage. A background in physics is not essential but the ability to rapidly build networks and a working understanding of new subject areas is essential. All candidates should also be able to demonstrate the capacity to focus on key priorities and achieve tangible outcomes.

About you:

· Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a scientific field

· Previous experience in STM journals or books publishing

· Business acumen, ideally with experience working with journal financial accounts and business plans

· Exceptional communication and networking skills

· Willingness to travel to meetings and conferences worldwide
