Marketing Assistant(Beijing, China)Job PurposeThe Marketing Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing marketing and administrative support within the Content and Engagement Marketing (CEM) team which has colleagues based in Beijing and Bristol, UK (the headquarters of IOP Publishing). The role-holder uses multi-channel marketing tactics, including email marketing, social media, especially WeChat platform, advertising, webinars and conferences (in-person and virtual), to support the business goals of our journals, books and conference series programmes.The MA reports into the Research Communications Manager based in Beijing, and also works closely with the wider CEM team in the UK, colleagues in the Beijing office, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The role focuses on the China market, helps to implement marketing activities and campaigns that will effectively maximize our brand awareness in the region, as well as meet product, business area and company strategic objectives. The MA upholds best practice in all marketing activity and social media skills and is part of a high performing team with a passion for modern marketing techniques.Key job accountabilities include:• Responsible for supporting the delivery of marketing activities across all key channels as allocated to them.• Contribute to and represent marketing on project-based work that will further the overall organisational objectives as directed by Head of Content & Engagement Marketing, Research Communications Manager or other members of the CEM team. This may include continuous improvement projects, cross-marketing dept campaigns and operational initiatives. • Responsible for the completion of tasks briefed to them by team members to support specific campaign and project goals for journals, books, conference series etc.• Produce routine reports and undertake routine analysis of campaign performance. Input to regular marketing reports. Provide recommendations on improving ROI where possible. • Take a proactive approach to identify opportunities to improve workflows, tactics and campaigns. • Responsible for carrying out all administrative support, including processing invoices, data entry and processing, booking team meetings and workshops and taking meeting notes to facilitate the smooth running of the team.About you:Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:• An understanding of and interest in marketing concepts, and ability to learn how to use marketing tools quickly, along with enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills and knowledge across multiple marketing channels and tactics. • Previous WeChat platform operation experience is preferred.• Previous office administration experience is preferred.• Confident with MS Office365, customer databases, internet and email. • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment • Degree or equivalent, in STM subject is preferred. • Strong written and spoken skills in Mandarin and English, confidence in communicating with stakeholders, and able to liaise with internal and external customers at many different levels.• Ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated and collaborative team.• Strong copywriting skills, able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.• Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.• Excellent problem-solving skills – identify opportunities and overcome challenges.• Takes a proactive approach in the role; understands and maintains an awareness of modern marketing techniques.• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.• Awareness of marketing budgets and campaign spend.• General office administration skills and seeks ways to add value to provide administrative support across the team.To apply:To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter through our careers site highlighting your previous experience and how it applies to the role, and why you are interested in this opportunity and IOP Publishing.About us:IOP Publishing is an international scientific publisher, through which leading-edge research is distributed worldwide.
