Journal Publishing Assistant
As a Journals Publishing Assistant you will provide administrative support to the Life Sciences Society Services team and support the research and analysis of potential growth opportunities in the portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity to start building a career in the publishing industry. As a Journal Publishing Assistant, you’ll gain experience of various different aspects of publishing. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a range of training opportunities and strong support from a highly skilled and very friendly team. Your colleagues in publishing will rely on you for excellent administrative support in the management and development of society journals. Your responsibilities will range from dealing with enquiries, to drafting reports, to organising and minuting meetings. Crucially, you’ll also help to enable and support strong relationships with our clients. That means you’ll play an important role in helping our business to grow and remain at the forefront of journals publishing.
Working in an environment where business dealings are predominately in English, you will have excellent verbal and written English language skills. Together with a degree, from a reputable academic institution, to join us you’ll need experience of using the Microsoft Office suite of programmes. We’ll also look for a good understanding of what’s required in an administrative working environment. Equally confident working solo and as part of a team, you have the initiative and organisational ability to prioritise your own workload and meet every deadline. A good communicator, both in person and in writing, you can work well with people at all levels. An academic background in the life sciences would be advantageous, but is not a direct requirement for the role.
