In this role, as HR generalist, you will be responsible for the full range of HR activities such as HR support, development and administration, including payroll and recruiting for our US region. In addition, you will be in close contact with our HR colleagues at the headquarters in Berlin and exchange knowledge and information on various international topics together with them.

YOUR TASKS

  • Supporting employees in all personnel-related issues, including matters relating to remuneration and social security law
  • (preparatory) payroll accounting and personnel cost planning
  • Maintenance of HR-relevant documents and preparation of HR relevant letters
  • Recruiting new employees in the US in cooperation with the relevant departments
  • Onboarding of new employees including the preparation of contracts
  • Preparation of HR-relevant correspondence, contract supplements and certificates
  • Personnel development and career path planning
  • Collaboration with service providers in the areas of labor law

YOUR PROFILE

  • A university degree (Bachelor’s minimum) with a relevant focus, as well as several years of professional experience in an HR environment
  • Experience in the areas of labor law, HR strategy, payroll, HR development, and administration
  • Ideally, an understanding of the challenges of the academic publishing industry
  • A high degree of personal integrity and empathy
  • Confident appearance, clear positioning and high negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
  • A high degree of analytical ability and a structured approach
  • Basic understanding of economic contexts
