AIP Publishing is looking for an Assistant Journal Manager/Journal Manager to oversee a select group of publications to ensure their editorial and publishing development long-term success. The role requires working closely with academic editors, researchers and societies (as needed) within the community to drive content development in new and emerging research areas. As a result, travel in the future is required.

The Assistant Journal Manager/Journal Manager will need to:

  • ensure the products are the leading publications in their respective fields
  • monitor and analyze journal metrics and measure progress towards targets
  • coordinate marketing efforts that will ensure increased journal usage, visibility and authorship
  • commission authors to submit to the journals from key institutions worldwide
  • represent AIP Publishing and its journals at conferences and institutional visits (virtual and in person)


  • A Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) and/or an advanced physical science degree (Ph.D., or similar, in Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering) is required
  • Prior work experience in Publishing is a plus

Must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, RI or Washington, DC. This is a remote opportunity
