Effective communications for publishing professionals – the importance of story-telling
An interactive webinar 4pm (GMT) on the 13th November 2014
Are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll tell you a story.
Facts and figures alone can sometimes be dull, but stories can truly engage an audience. The art of storytelling involves using messages which resonate and inspire conversation and sharing. For publishers, story-telling can be used to great effect to open and maintain dialogues with authors and editors and likewise to help define your journal and publishers brand both physically and digital.
The webinar will explore how story-telling can be used by all employees across publishing, and will include:
- The components of a good story
- Understanding what authors/editors/customers want to feel, explore and understand
- Developing story-telling skills
- Using content to drive engagement and conversation

Alex Brown, Communications Manager, Springer
Tom Reller, VP Global Corporate Communications, Elsevier
Christopher Kenneally, VP & CTO, Copyright Clearance Center
