What is RSS?

RSS allows you to automatically see when web sites have been updated. 
If you are tired of continually visiting sites that interest you in order to see if they contain any new information, you can instead use an RSS reader to subscribe to RSS-enabled sites.

If you do not yet have and RSS reader, there is useful list of readers on the "RSS Compendium" web site.

If you are utterly unfamiliar with RSS, a number of RSS primers can be found by searching for "RSS tutorial" in your favorite search engine.

The STM site supports feeds in RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and Atom.
