U.S. Task force releases report on sustainable preservation of digital knowledge base
The Blue Ribbon Task Force on Sustainable Digital Preservation and Access has published a new report titled 'Sustainable Economics for a Digital Planet: Ensuring Long-term Access to Digital Information'. The study is the result of a two-year effort focusing on the critical economic challenges of preserving an ever-increasing amount of information in a world gone digital.

Research stakeholders announce collaboration to resolve name ambiguity in scholarly research
December 1, 2009. Leading members from the research community announced their intent to collaborate to resolve the author name ambiguity problem in scholarly communication. Together, the group hopes to develop an open, independent identification system for scholarly authors.

STM Submission on the Digital Economy Future Directions Consultation Paper - Australia
On 10 February 2009, STM made a joint submission as part of the Consultation on the Digital Economy Future Directions. This was directed to the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Australia.
