John Vaughn

John C. Vaughn, Executive Vice President, Association of American Universities
 
As Executive Vice President, John serves as deputy to the president and chief operating officer. He has specific responsibility for association activities in the areas of intellectual property, information technology, research libraries and scholarly communication. He works with member presidents and chancellors, chief academic officers, and other university administrators in addressing these areas. In promoting national policies, he works closely with university government relations representatives and other university officials to advance appropriate and effective federal legislation and regulations in the support of academic programs and activities.
 
Dr. Vaughn received a B.A. from Eastern Washington State College, a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, and was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship through Duke University.
