Iain Craig

Iain Craig joined Blackwell Publishing, now Wiley, in 2005. He leads the Market and Publishing Analytics group within Wiley’s Market Insight department serving the analytical needs of colleagues working within the STM environment. Based in Oxford, UK he leads a global team of analysts who conduct bibliometric, usage/web analytics and sales analysis.

Iain’s specialism is in bibliometrics –including the citation performance and output of articles, authors, journals, research institutes and countries. Iain has written numerous articles on Impact Factors and citation analysis, including several published in peer reviewed journals, and has spoken on the topic in a variety of settings, both to a publishing and academic audience. Since 2010, Iain has been co-tutor on the ALPSP run course, Citation Analysis for Publishers.

A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Iain began his career at the Institute of Food Research, Norwich UK as a biochemist. His career in publishing began at Elsevier, Oxford, UK where he managed and commissioned a portfolio of journals, books and major reference works in the Materials Science, and latterly the Organic Chemistry subject areas.
