Gerry Grenier

Gerry Grenier is currently Director of Publishing Technologies for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in Piscataway, New Jersey.

He leads a 40-person electronic publishing team that is responsible for the development and operation of IEEE Xplore -- a digital library containing over 3 million journal articles, conference papers, and standards in electrical engineering and computer science.

Prior to joining the IEEE in 1999 Gerry was Director of Publishing Technologies at John Wiley & Sons, serving as a key member of the team that developed Wiley Interscience. He began his publishing career in 1980 at Alan R. Liss, Inc.

He serves on the boards of CrossRef and the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), and is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the IEEE Computer Society. In his spare time he serves as Trustee and Treasurer of his local public library.
