Senior Editor – Strategy and Development

Hoboken

The Senior Editor is responsible for developing quality strategies across specific subject areas of Wiley’s journal portfolios, and for facilitating accelerated growth within both subscription and Open Access models. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders and network in the research community to identify opportunities for growth. You will be responsible for developing proposals for new journal starts and for ensuring that new titles launch successfully to deliver increases in market share, quality, content development, and services to authors.

Requirements:

  • Meet objectives with regard to growth in market share and revenue.
  • Use strong analytic skills to identify priority titles and subprograms for growth and development while ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Use strong communication skills to work effectively across multiple teams and portfolios to drive the success of Wiley’s Open Access program in the US. Provide leadership for improving OA performance in defined subject areas.
  • Take strategic leadership of an internal subject community and deliver a subject level strategy that has buy-in and support from stakeholders.
  • Communicate requirements for all OA and subscription launches to colleagues. Review and provide input to appropriate new start proposals, working across multiple teams from initiation of an idea through to launch.
  • Build and maintain a strong diverse network of researchers and funders.
  • Combine intelligence from wide network with internal resources and intelligence from internal stakeholders.
  • Represent Wiley to the research community.
  • Support senior managers to deliver development plans aligned with overarching journal strategy
