<p class="MsoNormal">The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 ½ years production experience in STM publishing, and be conversant with Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Production Editor manages all aspects of interaction with authors, development editors , e-product development staff, and freelance staff from delivery of manuscript and art to launch/relaunch or publication of all educational products. The PE is responsible for new workflow design; setting and maintaining editorial, design, and layout standards; reviewing content and functionality; and hiring, managing , and evaluating freelance staff.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be detail and goal-oriented, be a good planner,<span>  </span>and have the ability to juggle multiple projects and adapt to changing workflows. A background in the sciences and/or medicine is desirable.</p>

This position plays a central role in developing and executing comprehensive annual marketing plans for multiple product lines – including scholarly and professional books, mobile apps, training videos, children’s books, and APA Style® products – with annual sales in excess of $15,000,000.</p>
<p>Responsible for creating and managing an annual promotional budget of more than $1,000,000 and for creating and managing annual promotional marketing plans. </p>
<p>The incumbent is responsible for all internal and external marketing communications relating to the books and videos product lines to drive product sales and awareness in member, nonmember, and institutional markets. </p>
<p>Responsible for accomplishing product marketing objectives through a variety of promotion channels, including direct mail, e-mail, and advertising. Manages the production of marketing collateral material – catalogs, brochures, etc. – including selection of products to include, writing promotional copy, researching and selecting mail lists, and working with the Creative Production group to develop design parameters to keep projects on schedule and on budget.  Position requires some travel to staff convention exhibits.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong><br />•    BA/BS required, preferably in marketing or business.<br />•    Minimum 3- 5 years of marketing experience, particularly to include experience in advertising, direct mail and email campaign coordination, copywriting, promotion response tracking, budgeting and budget expense tracking, and vendor management.<br />•    Experience in publishing required and in books publishing in particular preferred.<br />•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Access. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><span style="font-size: small;">We are recruiting for a Publishing Editor to work on our STM Journals, the role will require you to acquire, manage and develop a portfolio of international life science journals in order to maximise their performance.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><span style="font-size: small;">The role involves collating and interpreting market analysis of the sector, and launching or acquiring new contracts by utilising strong inter-personal skills and building relationships with academic editors, society contacts, international contacts and editorial boards.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong></strong><span lang="EN-US"><span style="font-size: small;">It is essential that you have a degree in life sciences and experience in journals publishing.<span style="font-family: Calisto MT Std;"><span>  </span>You will have previous experience of journals acquisitions and development combined with strong inter-personal skills and you will be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to internal and external shareholders to gain their commitment and support.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><span style="font-size: small;">The role will be based in Cambridge with international travel.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The Journal Manager will assume overall responsibility for ensuring the success of a select group of AIP publications and products.<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span>  </span><span>This includes working with journal editors to define editorial direction and develop content, as well as managing the product(s), driving the marketing strategies - particularly marketing to authors - and gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements through market research, all of which involves working closely with internal business units, academic editors, and external third-party organizations.  This position also includes responsibility for ensuring that development efforts support the overall strategies and goals of the Publisher's Office.  Candidate performance will be measured against each product's success using various metrics.</span></span></p>
