The STM Board consists of 15 elected people. This year five vacancies need to be filled. Rather than hold an election every three years for all 15 posts, STM elects one-third of the board (five places) each year. This keeps the Board refreshed but with a large measure of continuity. Each person elected serves for three years and can run for election once more, to serve a maximum of two consecutive terms totaling six years.

Any person working for an STM member organisation can nominate herself/himself or another individual. Ballots will be completed in September and the successful candidates will join the STM Board at its meeting in Frankfurt on 8 October.
